It may be taxing but rewards should be worthwhile
WHAT is not to like about not having to submit tax returns? After all, it means saying goodbye to that time of the year – April for those with non-business income – when there is much hand-wringing and dashing around to fill up forms and to meet the strict deadline for handing in those forms.
 
Annual returns too tax-ing?
PETALING JAYA: The option of not having to file annual tax returns may have been set to start in April next year, as announced in the last Budget. But for many taxpayers, the form-filling begins now. People opting for the plan known as “final tax” must start updating their employers now on their tax relief for 2014 to ensure that accurate deductions are made, according to the Inland Revenue Board (IRB).
