The Act, amongst others, provides for and regulates matters relating to the development and construction of housing accommodation, infrastructure and facilities under the Perumahan Rakyat 1Malaysia programme, to address the need for sustainable housing and community living in urban areas in Malaysia towards creating a strategic socio-economic housing development model, and to provide for the establishment of Perumahan Rakyat 1Malaysia Corporation.
